What’s Coming Up

Protect Mauna Kea

Indigenous Organizers in Albuquerque are requesting any and all to physically, mentally, and spiritually be in solidarity with the Kanaka Maoli relatives in their peaceful fight to protect Mauna Kea from the Thirty Meter Telescope (TMT) which will remove and disrupt sacred mountain top.

Occupied Pueblo, Dine, Hopi and Apache territories otherwise known as current day New Mexico, has a heavily indigenous populated region, we must continue to be in prayer and solidarity with other indigenous people who are protecting their sacred sites. From Chaco Canyon to Mauna Kea, we stand against desecration and colonization of our sacred places. We know first hand how hard it is to fully express how spiritually important it is to not disrupt sacred soils and waters.

We have been asked to continue solidarity efforts here on the mainland. The na Kia’i relatives have requested that we be in peaceful prayer and that we go upon this with good intentions and kapu aloha.

“This is our most sacred mountain; this is our most sacred place. It is the highest place, it is the home of our sacred waters, and it is the home of our deities.”
