Pueblo Action Alliance Youth will be hosting a community and inter-generational event celebrating 341 years of Pueblo resistance.

This event will take place at @homegrownm_tradingpost as we strongly encourage all who join us to WEAR A MASK 😷

This Summer, the House of Tears Carvers of the Lummi Nation will transport a 25-foot totem pole from Washington State to Washington DC, stopping for ceremony and live-streamed events with communities leading efforts to protect sacred places under threat from resource extraction and industrial development. As the pole travels it draws lines of connection—honoring, uniting and empowering communities working to protect sacred places. The pole carries the spirit of the lands it visits and the power and prayers of communities along the way—ultimately delivering these prayers, power and demands to the Biden-Harris Administration and Congress in Washington DC, and culminating in an exhibition at the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian. In the context of a national reckoning with American history, and the acknowledgement of past and present injustices inflicted on Native Peoples and lands without consent, the Red Road to DC invites people to take a stand with those who are struggling to protect sacred places. Our collective future depends on it.

This May, the Feminist Future(s) Team invite you to join our month-long hackathon and community event series where we will practice care, collectivity, and radical imagination to dream and build feminist future(s) in which people and the planet thrive. In teams mentored by community organizations, we will design interventions for four topic areas:

- Reproductive Justice (collaborators: @_therenee & @periodequity)

- The Care Economy (collaborator: National Domestic Workers Alliance)

Prison Abolition (collaborators TBA!)

Environmental Justice (Collaborator: Pueblo Action Alliance) 

From art activism, to community gardens, to planning for mutual aid, we know that innovation doesn’t need to be high-tech to be high-impact. While we’re all tired of Zoom, we aim to create a virtual space that is caring, inclusive, and joyful.

The panel raises the voices, expertise, and leadership of Indigenous Two Spirit and LGBTQ+ youth who will present an integral call to action modeling the necessity of youth leadership initiatives impacting their lives while also focusing on intimate partner violence in honor of Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month.
